Field of research: The aim of my research is to study verbal irony within the framework of pragmatics. Furthermore, I attempt to determine the pragmatic and semantic components of irony comprehension as well as the verbal and nonverbal stimuli necessary for making irony recognizable. During my research, I also consider how the developmental and evolutionary approaches might contribute to pragmatic theories and research on irony. As a member of the Developmental and Neuropragmatic Research Group, led by Lívia Ivaskó, I have been doing research into the latter topic since 2009.
