Sociopragmatics, cross- and intercultural pragmatics, linguistic (im)politeness and culture, linguistic politeness and gender. Conversation analysis.
I am currently investigating linguistic (im)politeness in the time of socialism/communism in Poland and Hungary as well as the strategies of apologizing in various Central European countries.
