My research focuses on self-initiated same-turn self-repair strategies within the framework of conversation analysis. Repair is defined as any strategies used by conversational partners when they treat recurrent problems in speaking, hearing, and understanding talk-in-interaction. My aim is to explore the interactional functions and other characteristics of repair operations (eg. recycling, replacing, inserting, or aborting) as well as the relationship between them.
